Covering textbook chapters 6, 7 and 8 of Ponto de Encontro Portuguese as a World Language second edition (online edition), this course is designed for high beginning students who have a working knowledge of the grammar covered in the first and second level courses and continue to focus on improving their oral communication skills. Some of the topics in level III include talking about clothing and shopping, expressing opinions, discussing weather conditions, talking about ongoing past events and states, accepting and declining invitations among others. There will be weekly homework assignments and online practice using MyLab Pearson, included with the online textbook.
Note: recommended prerequisite: "Portuguese for Communication II," or the equivalent.

Solimar Hillier teaches Portuguese for Communication I , II , III , IV , and V . She has an M.A. in Education with Specialization in TESOL from the University of San Diego and a B.A. in language and literature (Portuguese/English). She is a native of Brazil with over ten years of experience teaching Portuguese.
