Intensive Legal English
Who should take this course?
This program is for students with advanced proficiency in English who have a minimum of 4 - 6 months of previous legal studies or law-related work experience, and who are interested in both improving their English skills while learning about the U.S. legal system.
Advanced levels of English proficiency only or student must have a language proficiency score of 79 iBT or IELTS 6.0.

Program Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- Classes are held between 8:30 - 4:30 PM
- 11 weeks - 25 hours per week (First week is testing, orientation & registration)
- Schedule varies depending on classes chosen
Required Courses:
- Grammar (4 hours per week)
Special six-hour core class providing:
- A review of the U.S. legal systems
- Trial procedures
- Landmark cases
- Social/cultural trends that affect the law
- Guest lectures by legal scholars and practicing attorneys
- Readings, vocabulary study, discussions
- Participant presentations
- Class excursions to a courthouse or other site related to local law services
Legal Vocabulary- 3 hours per week:
- Extensive practice and application of the vocabulary learned in the Legal English Core
- Additional law-related words and terminology
An additional 12 hours per week chosen by students from this list:
