Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Proficiency

Who should take this program?

This three-month course is a foundation course in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) for non-native English speakers. Prospective students must have one of the following scores to participate in this program: 525 TOEFL paper-based, 69 TOEFL internet-based, 690 TOEIC, 5.5 IELTS, "Pass" on the Cambridge FCE or Advanced Exams, or 600 TEPS.

Other Requirements:

  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Copy of transcripts in English for the two most recent years of academic studies
  • A one-page statement explaining why you would like to take any TEFL Certificate program

Application fee, application, financial verification, and all supporting documents must be submitted prior to the application deadline.

The curriculum consists of the following core courses:

  • Academic Writing (27 hours)
  • Oral Presentations for Language Teachers (27 hours)
  • Pronunciation and Fluency (27 hours)
  • Introduction to Teaching English as a Foreign Language (27 hours)

Cost (In U.S. Dollars):

Application Fee: $200 (non-refunable)

Tuition 2010: $4,300

Book/Materials: $200-500 per quarter

Student Services Fee: $300

TEFL Late-Submission Fee (if submitted past deadline):$100

After a student has been admitted into a TEFL Program, a change into a different TEFL program requires the approval of the TEFL Program Coordinator and a Program Change Fee: $125
