Summer Session

Who should take this course?

For strong academic students who would like to take a full-time or part-time schedule of credit-bearing courses at UC San Diego while studying alongside American university students. Summer Session consists of regular university courses compressed into two five-week periods and both sessions are very rigorous. A schedule of 8 units (usually two classes) is considered full-time study. Prospective students must provide one of the following language scores with application: 550 TOEFL paper-based, 79 TOEFL internet-based, 760 TOEIC, 6.0 IELTS, or a "Pass" on the Cambridge Advanced or Proficiency Exam.

How to Enroll:

Course descriptions can be found in the UCSD General Catalog. All Summer Session courses are on a space-available basis, so you must select alternate choices just in case your first-choice courses are full. Course selections will be submitted to UCSD Summer Session for enrollment. Once Summer Session has confirmed course enrollment, you will receive confirmation and acceptance materials from our admissions department. Before you enroll, be sure to review the Summer Session Refund Policy. Certain courses may require prior experience in the subject area. All classes are subject to change or cancellation due to UC San Diego scheduling decisions.
