UC San Diego Extension International Programs offer university credit programs for a short-term study abroad experience. International students who participate in our university credit programs study alongside UC San Diego university students and take a full-time schedule of credit-bearing courses at UC San Diego or UC San Diego Extension. Universities in many countries count these credits towards their own degree programs. (Transferability is at the discretion of the home university.) These programs are for students with excellent academic preparation and very strong English language skills.
Want a semester abroad? The University and Professional Studies (UPS) program is a short-term study abroad program that welcomes high achieving, non-matriculated international students to attend a full-time credit-bearing program of UC San Diego or UC San Diego Extension courses. Note: UC San Diego courses are offered through a quarter system. UC San Diego main campus courses are not available through this program during the summer. Instead, students can enroll into university classes through UC San Diego Summer Session.
