Sustainable Business Practices

Leading organizations are becoming increasingly aware of potential challenges in the areas of compliance and pending regulations for sustainability, as well as the opportunities afforded by the growing public interest in climate change, environmental issues, “green practices,” and sustainability. As a result, pioneering companies are looking for talented individuals who can design business models which incorporate sustainable strategies and earth-friendly procedures without compromising the effectiveness of the organization.

In this program, you will learn core principles of environmental sustainability, explore a framework for understanding the “business case” for sustainability, and build practical skills for measuring sustainable practices. Individuals will actively participate in the assessment of an existing organization or company providing recommendations to improve business operations while maintaining economic stability.

The program consists of five courses which may be completed in one academic year. UCSD students receive a substantial discount through Extension's Complimentary Enrollment Program.

NOTE: Preparatory courses are taken at the discretion of the student. Fees for those classes are the student's responsibility.
