Spend the weekend in Ensenada studying Spanish language and culture in Ensenada, Mexico. Students attend eight hours of classroom instruction at the
Center of Languages, a well-established Mexican
language school, in Ensenada. Students who have completed the program are eligible for UCSD Extension credit on a pass/no pass basis as long as
they have attended 100% of classroom instruction. Upon arrival at the Center of Languages, each student’s
language level is evaluated and students are placed in the appropriate class level. Instructors combine a variety of language training techniques in the classroom, such as structure drills, intensive dialogue practice and role-playing. The classroom environment is highly interactive and students receive concentrated support according to their own learning preferences. Students learn specific grammatical topics and skills to help
strengthen their conversational skills. In addition to classroom hours, students have the opportunity to stay with a Mexican host family and practice what
they’ve learned in a more informal setting. More information is available at extension.ucsd.edu/travelstudy.
