Who should take this course?

For students who plan to enter an American college or university, and for professionals who need a high level of accuracy and writing skills for their career. There is a strong emphasis on fluency and academic skill development in this program. This course includes TOEFL preparation electives for some levels. Students who have advanced English proficiency have a larger range of electives. Beginner to advanced levels.

Other Requirements to be submitted 30 days before the published program start-date:

  • TB Assessment Form (sent at the time UC San Diego Extension International Programs sends acceptance materials)

  • Medical Insurance Verification form (if student chooses to use their own medical insurance and not UC San Diego Medical Insurance) For the minimum coverage requirements click here

Program Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday

  • Classes are held between 8:30 - 4:30 PM

  • 11 weeks - 25 hours per week (First week is testing, orientation & registration)

  • Schedule varies depending on level and classes chosen
