Who should take this course?

This program is for serious academic students who want to focus on developing fluency and accuracy in all language skills. Considerable time is spent on grammar, reading, and writing. Intermediate, high-intermediate, and advanced English proficiency may take this program. Student's English proficiency is determined during orientation at the time the student arrives to UC San Diego English Language Institute (ELI).

Program Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday

  • 20 hours per week

  • Schedule varies depending on level and courses chosen

Required Courses:

  • Core class focusing on fluency and accuracy in all language skills. Considerable time spent on grammar, reading, and writing.

Two additional elective courses chosen from the following list:

  • Vocabulary Development

  • Writing Development

  • Advanced Listening and Speaking

  • TOEFL Preparation

  • Pronunciation

  • Reading Skills

Note: Elective courses are on a space-available basis.

 

Cost (In U.S. Dollars):

Application Fee: $150 (nonrefundable)

FedEx fee: $50 (optional, but recommended)
2014 Tuition: $1,900

International Student Service Fee: $140
Books/Materials: Approximately $150-175
