Who should take this course?

This is a program for serious students who want to increase their English fluency through business content studies. High-intermediate and advanced language proficiency only. Student English proficiency is measured upon arrival. Students who do not have the required English level for this program will take either Academic English (intermediate levels only) or Conversation Plus (beginner, low-intermediate, and intermediate levels).

Other Requirements to be submitted 30 days before the published program start-date:

  • TB Assessment Form (sent at the time UC San Diego Extension International Programs sends acceptance materials)
  • Medical Insurance Verification form (if student chooses to use their own medical insurance and not UC San Diego Medical Insurance) For the minimum coverage requirements click here

Program Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday

  • 25 hours per week

  • Schedule varies depending on level and courses chosen

What this Course Includes:

The focus is on making presentations, negotiating, meeting skills, business vocabulary, and writing while surveying topics such as:

  • American Business

  • Marketing

  • Finance

  • International Trade

  • Management

  • Human Resources

This program includes expert guest speakers and visits to local businesses. Guest speaker dates and company visits vary according to availability.

Books: Approximately $175

(Payment for all books and instructional materials CANNOT be made in advance and are to be purchased upon arrival at UC San Diego.)
