Payment and Refunds for
International Summer Session Students
through Extension International Student Services


Payments

All fees and full tuition must be paid in full at time of application. Tuition is not pro-rated.
 

Cancellations and Refunds

All application, express mail, and insurance fees are non-refundable. Refunds are given only through the mode of original payment. Agency-referred students receive refunds through the agency.

All requests for refunds, add/drop must be submitted to Extension International Student Services (ISS) IN WRITING.

 

Schedule of Refunds for Summer Session I (June 30 - August 2, 2008)

Prior to June 11, 2008 Full refund of tuition minus a $500 cancel fee.
June 11, 2008 through July 7, 2008 Full refund of tuition minus a $1,000 cancel fee.
After July 8, 2008 No refunds.
 

Schedule of Refunds for Summer Session II (August 4 - September 6, 2008)

Prior to July 9, 2008 Full refund of tuition minus a $500 cancel fee.
July 10, 2008 through August 8, 2008 Full refund of tuition minus a $1,000 cancel fee.
After August 9, 2008 No refunds.
 
Program Change/ Additional Payments
When enrolling in one of the Summer Session programs, students may change from part-time to
full-time or from full-time to part-time. Only one change is allowed according to the policies below:
 

Add/Drop schedule for Summer Session I (June 30 - August 2, 2008)

1- Part-time students may "add" to become Full-time: June 12 - June 27, 2008 must pay $1000 plus $100 late fee
2- Part-time students may "add" to become Full-time: June 30 - July 7, 2008 must pay $1000 plus $100 late fee
3- Full-time students who wish to drop to part-time status (see "IMPORTANT" information below), deadline to drop is July 7.

Deadline to drop is July 7, 2008. Refund changing from full-time to part-time by July 7, 2008 is $400.

4- Full-time students cannot add additional units beyond 8 units. (8 units is a full-time load.)
 

Add/Drop schedule for Summer Session II (August 6 - September 6, 2008)

1- Part-time students may "add" to become Full-time: July 10 - August 1, 2008 must pay $1000 plus $100 late fee
2- Part-time students may "add" to become Full-time: August 4 - August 8, 2008 must pay $1000 plus $100 late fee
3- Full-time students who wish to drop to part-time status (see "IMPORTANT" information below), deadline to drop is August 8, 2008. Deadline to drop is August 8, 2008. Refund for changing from full-time to part-time by August 8 is $400.
4- Full-time students cannot add additional units beyond 8 units. (8 units is a full-time load.)
 

IMPORTANT: Students on F-1 student status who withdraw from their program or drop units to part-time status will no longer qualify as full-time students and will therefore lose their student visa status from UCSD Extension. These students must speak with the International Student Advisor in the ISS Office before changing their program.
