Featured Speaker: Amy Callahan
Exercise significantly improves quality of life, especially in the recently booming aging population. The myriad benefits include injury prevention, cardiovascular health, reduced risk of disease, improved mood and sleep, and strengthened immune system. This lecture will outline the benefits of an exercise regime and how to design a safe and effective program. Participants will gain an understanding of how to implement fitness into their lifestyles.
Presenter Biography
Amy Callahan has been a certified personal trainer, exercise specialist, and massage therapist for over 20 years, concentrating in functional fitness, gait, and balance. She teaches for Scripps Health at the Shiley Fitness Center offering a wide variety of fitness classes such as Yoga, Aquasize, Bone Health, Strength, Lymphedema, and Dance Fitness and more. In addition, she works one-on-one with clients and presents regularly for the MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Scripps Rehabilitation center. Amy has extensive experience working with post rehab injuries, neurological conditions, and other special needs
