Eliminate Waste and Create Value in Your Organization

Successful operations from shop floor to top floor!

A Lean Enterprise is defined as "performance without waste." Many organizations waste 70%-90% of available resources through improper management of material, time, information, idle equipment, and inventory. Lean Enterprise principles offer tangible solutions in an effort to drastically cut this percentage of waste, improving quality, productivity and profitability. The fundamentals of lean enterprises embrace the identification and elimination of waste throughout the entire supply chain, ultimately resulting in a more efficient business environment. The UCSD program for Lean Enterprise teaches the fundamentals, techniques and facilitates the follow-up skills necessary to achieve successful results from the shop floor to the top floor.

Benefits

World Class performance results, obtained through the implementation of Lean principles can include dramatic improvements:

Business Process Transaction Cycle Time 50% to 90% reduction
Manufacturing Cycle Time 0% to 95% reduction
Inventory 40% to 80% reduction
Manufacturing Floor space/Office Area 30% to 60% reduction
Productivity 25% to 60% improvement
New Product Development Lead-time 0% to 50% improvement
Manufacturing/Operating Costs 15% to 25% reduction
Cost of Poor Quality 30% to 50% reduction

Program Objectives

To introduce students to a comprehensive set of tools and techniques for implementing a lean enterprise this course will provide the information to acquire skills, and to gain knowledge and provide application in the following areas:

  • Provide an introduction to the tools and techniques of World Class Performance
  • Provide hands-on learning opportunities to experience the WCP tools and techniques
  • Provide a step-by-step roadmap model for successfully managing the implementation of World Class Performance

Each session is designed to apply directly to the participants' involvement in an actual project. Upon program completion, participants will have a complete framework for successful implementation and deployment of their own World Class Performance organization.
