Technology Business Creation Certificate

Employers look for individuals who possess the knowledge and skills to contribute quickly to the success of their organization. Engineers and professionals in technical fields particularly offer promise in the new economy if they can channel their knowledge into practical activities to solve business problems. Local high-tech employers report that knowledge and skills related to project management, communications, and business law, along with a sense of those behaviors that contribute to entrepreneurism and innovation in a technology-driven company are all factors which would give a leading edge to engineering candidates applying for employment.

The UCSD Advanced Certificate in Technology Business Creation is a carefully crafted response to this feedback. The program is geared towards full-time UCSD students and the Certificate in Technology Business Creation presents general knowledge regarding entrepreneurial business practices and skill development in communications, project management and business law. The Certificate was developed in concert with leading San Diego entrepreneurs to address many of the elements of job preparation they would value in an engineering employee.
