Urban Planning and Development Certificate

UC San Diego Extension’s Professional Certificate in Urban Planning & Development provides a thorough basis for understanding the processes that define and impact planning in both California and the San Diego region. The curriculum allows students to explore foundational concepts, as well as with other critical issues and trends that affect development. More importantly, students discover the wide variety of challenges facing the planning and development industry today, from “in-filling” and smart growth strategies to compliance involving complex environmental regulations. Electives and seminars provide exposure to new and different subject areas, encouraging you to investigate specific topics in depth, like affordable housing, GIS, resource and project management, investment opportunities and CEQA.
