Two types of scholarships are offered. Merit scholarships are based solely on academic achievement as reflected in your application. Restricted scholarships are awarded on academic merit plus additional criteria such as demonstrated financial need, field of interest, or leadership. If selected, you may need to provide supporting documentation to verify how you meet the restricted criteria. All personal and medical information remains confidential. Alumni "Change the World" Scholarship
All UC alumni are now eligible to apply for one of four merit scholarships of up to $5,500 to enter any continuing education certificate or special study program offered by UC San Diego Extension. All persons who have received a bachelor's degree or a graduate degree from any UC campus are eligible to apply. What does it mean to change the world? The definition is purposely broad, and can range from cultural enrichment to regional economic development. UC San Diego Extension is looking to reward alumni with the promise and potential to improve the quality of life in San Diego, and beyond. In the application essay, potential recipients should clearly explain how they would help California build a globally competitive talent pool, accelerate economic vitality or foster community-building conversations if they receive this advanced training.

HD Supply Facilities Management Scholarship
Students interested in pursuing a career or advancing in the field of Facilities Management are encouraged to apply for the HD Supply Facilities Management scholarship. HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, a leading industrial distributor of maintenance, repair and operations products to the facilities industry has generously provided a $2,000 scholarship for students of the Facilities Management Certificate program. HD Supply supports cutting-edge education in the facilities field as a part of their social responsibility efforts.

SDG&E Sustainable Business Practices Scholarship
Thanks to San Diego Gas & Electric, two $1,500 scholarships are available for promising students of the Sustainable Business Practices certificate program. SDG&E supports programs that promote energy efficiency and environmental stewardship, and are hosting additional UCSD Extension courses at their new Energy Innovation Center.

UC San Diego Extension & Time Warner Cable Fundraising Certificate Scholarship
Providing resources to emerging nonprofit leaders is part of Time Warner Cable's mission to support the growth of the nonprofit sector in San Diego. That's why they've decided partner with UC San Diego Extension in offering $20,000 in tuition for deserving candidates. This spring, eight scholarship recipients will earn $2,500 towards pursuing the Professional Certificate in Fundraising & Development.

Volunteer Ambassador Scholarship
Any person who is active in the community is encouraged to apply for a Volunteer Ambassador scholarship from UC San Diego's Center for Global Volunteer Service. The center conducts volunteer service trips to countries such as Dominican Republic, China and Argentina. Typical service projects vary; past projects include teaching in the local schools, public health outreaches, supporting sustainable practices, etc. This scholarship, valued at more than $1,000, is valid for the program fee and travel expenses for certain UC San Diego Extension Building Bridges service trips. There are no education, experience or language requirements to apply. We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to spread the word to their network of contacts about the benefits of these volunteer service trips. In the application, potential recipients should explain how they would use this experience to communicate this message to their networks and local community.
