Textbook preliminary lesson and lessons 1-3. With the focus on oral communication, instruction includes basic sentence patterns, and an introduction to Pinyin and Characters. Students will begin to understand how the Mandarin Chinese language works grammatically, and how to use Chinese in real life as they discuss everyday topics such as greetings, family, dates and times, hobbies, and visiting friends.
