Review the practical application of state and federal employment law. Topics include at-will employment and wrongful discharge; discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; ADA; employee rights and intellectual property; wage and hour benefits; occupational health, safety, and workers’ compensation; reductions-in-force; alternative dispute resolution; labor relations; and corrective action and terminations.

Other Credits: This course is approved for 27 hours of continuing education credit.

Note: If you are enrolled in the Human Resource Management Certificate you need to complete the Prerequisite course: Managing Human Resources: An Overview. If you are not planning to take the whole certificate, courses can be taken on a stand-alone basis for recertification credits, or counted towards our Professional Certificate in HR Management.
