Clean technology is an emerging sector with enormous growth potential. It refers to a wide range of products, services and processes that harness renewable energy to create sustainable and secure resources. In the last five years, billions of venture capital dollars have been invested in clean technology enterprises. Students will explore clean technologies and the various sub-categories of the industry (including wind, solar and tidal renewable energies; energy storage; energy infrastructure; alternative fuel; water; recycling & waste) and their different market stage development and market opportunities. You will also learn about the regulatory frameworks at the transnational, federal and state level (e.g. Renewable Portfolio Standard, AB 32, AB 811, Regional Cap & Trade systems, and Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative).
