C4ISR I: C4ISR Overview

Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) is the broad categorization of the military’s efforts to develop information systems and processes for using information in operational decision making. This course will describe this evolution, particularly in regards to Network Centric Warfare (NCW), the core of current C4ISR efforts. Also covered is an overview of the DoD attempts to develop new C4ISR technologies. It will emphasize contemporary issues in technology development, procurement and employment. It is appropriate for both managers and engineers.
