Fictionalizing Real Life
Writers lead double lives. Both as participants and observers, we make notes and gather material. All life, it seems, is grist for our fiction. In this workshop, you'll learn to mine your life for promising nuggets to work into fiction. Shifting through memories, you'll recall details, alter facts, play "what if...?" and transform real people into fiction characters. The first session will include exercises and idea starters to generate material for a short story or scene for a novel. Working with this raw mosaic, you'll create a short manuscript, which we'll review in our read and critique session.
Note: Open to writers of all levels.
