Sparking Creativity through Writing Exercises

Writing is easy - right up until it comes to facing the blank page. But blank pages can be fun when we learn how to play with them. Writing allows us to free out minds and unleash our creativity in playful, exciting ways. In addition to helping us get started, structuring writing exercises effectively can help us to both develop big projects already underway as well as get us started on telling stories we have yet to discover. This seminar will provide hands-on experience with writing exercises designed to help you imagine and develop characters, find appropriate settings, raise the dramatic stakes, begin to plan plots, and strengthen your ability to "show" rather than merely "tell" your story.
