Legal Translation
Learn methods and specialized vocabulary that are applied to sample legal texts commonly requiring translation in various phases of criminal cases, such as arraignment and bail setting, evidentiary hearings, disposition and sentencing, probation revocation, etc. Obtain extensive practice in written and sight translation of legal documents, with emphasis on criminal procedure.
Note: prerequisites: Successful completion of Entrance Exam, "Introduction to Translation and Interpretation", "Theory and Practice of Translation", "Spanish to English Translation I", and "English to Spanish Translation I". Elective for the Professional Certificate in Translation and Interpretation (Spanish/English).
Other Credit: CIMCE #1555. 5 points of ATA Continuing Education in Category A.
