Introduction to Translation and Interpretation (Spanish/English)
This course examines the roles of the translator and the interpreter. An overview is provided of the techniques for written and sight translation along with consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. Once students understand how the relevant skills are acquired, these techniques are practiced in class and through directed homework assignments.
Note: prerequisite: Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Requirement for the Professional Certificate in Translation and Interpretation.
