Poetry Workshop: Art as Muse

For centuries poets have been inspired by the color of visual art and the bravado of music. Explore poetry written about art and music and learn to let it be the muse to inspire your own poetry. In this workshop, you will discover Persia's great mystical poet, Rumi; enjoy the irreverence of beat poet and painter Lawrence Ferlinghetti; dive into the transcendental work of Zen poet Jane Hirshfield and others. You will also have the opportunity to let art be your muse as you explore a local art exhibition and share your poetry in class.

Note: Class will include a field trip to the San Diego Museum of Art.
