On Location: Writing in San Diego
Visit significant spots in and around San Diego and discover the in-depth tradition and long history of writers in the area. Discover how local settings can be used to develop narratives (fiction and non-fiction) and foster personal writing. Consider how San Diego locales depicted in 1769, in the 1940s - 1950s, and in the 1980s-1990s compare with those same locales today and how narrative development is affected by time and place. Above all else, you are encouraged to develop your writing through intimate connections with local settings. Locations include, but are not limited to, downtown San Diego, La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, the UCSD campus, and Rose Canyon.
Note: Open to writers of all levels.
