Dare DeLano, J.D., is a partner at DeLano & DeLano specializing in high profile land use and environmental matters with an emphasis on litigation. Ms. DeLano has garnered extensive experience litigating in state court in both jury and bench trials. She also handles appeals and writ petitions.
Ms. DeLano also writes fiction. Her novel Abilene was short-listed as a finalist for the Faulkner-Wisdom Creative Writing Competition for unpublished work and is currently represented by Jennifer Thompson of Nordlyset Literary Agency. Her children’s book Odus and the Long Way Home won a San Diego Book Award for Best Published Children’s Book for 2015, and a Gold Moonbeam Children’s Book Award for 2014.
Ms. DeLano graduated with a B.A, in English from the University of Dallas, cum laude, phi beta kappa, in 1990. She received her law degree from the University of Virginia in 1994 and a master’s in international law (LLM) from New York University in 1996. She received an MFA in creative writing in 2019 from Fairfield University.
