Edward Vasko is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Lean practitioner. He brings more than 25 years of performance improvement and cultural change implementation experience in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in various industries. Vasko started his career in aviation logistics as a Marine Corps Aviation Logistics Officer and moved into civilian aerospace manufacturing and operations where he helped lead organizational change with McDonnell Douglas and The Boeing Company. As a senior manager, Vasko worked with suppliers worldwide to help ensure timely, quality delivery using CQI/LSS techniques to support aircraft manufacturing and modifications. Trained in Lean by the Shingijutsu Company in Japan, he has made the pursuit of excellence fundamental and integral to the way he views business and team performance.

After earning his MBA from Embry-Riddel Aeronautical University, Vasko spent five years working with the Dale Carnegie courses to hone his facilitation and teaching skills, public speaking ability and leadership awareness—all critical to the successful implementation of quality improvement, Lean and Six Sigma. 

Vasko is actively involved in training and certifying LSS Green Belts, Black Belts and Master Black Belts while continuing hands-on project management, including efforts in cycle time reduction, defect reduction, throughput improvement and organizational change. He has recently worked with companies such as TRANDES modification centers, NOA Brands Juarez manufacturing facility, Interport modifications and fabrication, Adidas Group (Global), Ilumina laboratories, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH), the Royal Alexandra Hospital Hospital, Southern California Gas, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and American Airlines.

Some of his recent projects include:

  • NOA Brands lead time and WIP reductions (58% and 83% respectively)
  • Organizational change and process improvement efforts with ODOT
  • University of Alberta Hospital emergency room throughput time (50% reduction)
  • Process integration and documentation with American Airlines
  • Lead time reduction for SoCal Gas GIS process (68% reduction)
  • NOA Brands OEE implementation
  • Throughput and utilization with Illumina genetics testing laboratory

Vasko is a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) as a certified professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ).
