Makaela Anderson is an instructor with the EAPD program at UC San Diego's English Language Institute. She has spent 4 years teaching at both private and public universities, as well as private English schools. In addition to teaching, Anderson has been a freelance technical writer and editor for companies in the U.S. and abroad. Anderson focuses on a student-centered approach, using lively and diverse topics and activities to mimic common interactions and situations so students can take what they learn in class and use it in their everyday life. As a result, her classes challenge students to become self-aware, reflect and think critically as part of achieving set language goals. Makaela proudly holds a bachelor's in political science from UC San Diego, a master's in Latin American studies from Stanford University and a CELTA.
