Ray Wheeler has 35+ years of experience in engineering and manufacturing environments. He has an extensive background in product development and project coordination and has a broad knowledge of manufacturing, quality, continuous improvement and design for producibility.
He has been a consultant and instructor of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analysis, engineering drawing interpretation, inspecting GD&T and gage design for 30+ years and is a senior level certified GD&T professional. He is also a participating member of multiple ASME national committees including ASME Y14.5, Y14.36, Y14.41, Y14.43 and AAED.
In addition to instruction, Wheeler has expertise in areas including product design, design for producibility, 3D model based definition and dimensional management. He is a certified lean practitioner and has a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
Wheeler holds a master's degree in engineering technology with undergraduate degrees in both mechanical engineering technology and industrial arts education. He has worked in a variety of industries including aerospace, gas turbine engines / packages (aircraft and industrial), excimer laser systems and environmental controls.
