This course is designed for the practicing lactation consultant and gives an a overview of breast development, stages of lactation, the hormones of lactation, breast surgeries, and stages of breast milk production. This vital information often is the key to understanding the breast mechanisms and points of intervention that may cause significant delay in milk production and glandular response. The information is the fundamentals often missing in the understanding of cause and effect in a lactation case. Additionally the information is great for prenatal education and could be incorporated into a breastfeeding class.
These courses are intended for existing International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC's) looking for Lactation Continuing Education Recognition Points (LCERP's) towards re-certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
