This is the second of the animation classes taught by Warner Bros. and Disney animator Eric vanHamersveld. The class begins with a couple of projects in syncing recorded dialog and sound effects to animation. Then, choosing from a set of supplied soundtracks and characters, you will produce a complete Synchronized Sound, Full-Color, Broadcast Quality TV Commercial, just like you would for a client! Upon completing this class you will have a solid grasp of what it takes to sync sound (both lip-sync and sound effects) with animation, add color, and produce complete professional animated films... you will be on your way to a career in the Professional Arena of Animation Studio Production.

Note: This class uses the simplicity of basic 2D animation (3D animation is a bit more complicated, but has very similar production techniques when dealing with sound). Students for this advanced animation class have either taken the first UCSD Animation class, or are approved by the instructor. Students must have basic drawing and computer skills (Mac or PC); a scanner (for pencil drawing input) or a WACOM tablet with a drawing program that can save images as JPEGs. Students must also have access to the Adobe Creative Cloud (student fee $19mo), for PhotoShop, Audition and Animate. These programs are for sound editing, coloring, and movie assembly (all necessary software techniques for production will be fully explained in the class). The few additional inexpensive materials can be found on the Extension website.
