In this class, we will explore some of the most amazing places on Earth – places where conditions approach the limits of life. Students will learn about the adaptations that allow organisms to persist in these extreme environments. We will examine how life has evolved in places such as Antarctica’s ancient red waterfall, the deadly crystal caves in Mexico, and the Challenger Deep. And we will consider the potential for past and present life beyond our planet.

Note: This class is designed for middle school students. The Sally Ride Science Junior Academy courses are designed to inspire young adults to pursue careers in STE[+a]M.
