This workshop will provide attendees with an in-depth introduction to and exploration of healthcare applications for emerging blockchain-based technologies. Using speakers from academia, industry, professional associations, and the legal community, the workshop will incorporate a combination of research-oriented lectures, use cases, applied skill learning, and panel discussions on a variety of important topics. These include a primer on the technology, practical approaches to designing an conceptualizing blockchain systems, legal and regulatory considerations, and privacy compliance among others. Focused discussions on four healthcare verticals - medical devices, genomics, pharmaceutical supply chain, and clinical trials - will explore design, technical, and practical issues unique to each vertical.
