Clothes may not make the human, but creative and unique costumes can have real impact whether one attends a charity ball, ComiCon, or neighborhood Halloween event. This course explores the field of costume design and construction including a historical overview of costuming in the theatre setting, as well as hands-on technical instruction to enable students to construct a costume/character hat and apron using a sewing machine. Topics include: script analysis, collage, teamwork, sewing tools, fabric selection, machine sewing, and reading a commercial pattern.
