Explore the world of contemporary paper-cutting in this hands-on class. Students will be introduced to techniques of cutting and layering paper to create images in two and three dimensions. Art work will be conceived and produced by students to suit their personal style as they discover many possible applications of this art form beyond the norm. Topics discussed include history of the art form as well as line, space, color and structure. Instruction includes demonstrations, slide lectures, discussion and individual critiques.
Note: Elective for Art & Creative Process Certificate. Please bring an Xacto knife, small cutting mat, black and white paper and a glue stick to the first class meeting. A complete material list will be discussed at first meeting.
