Introduction to Induction provides mentors in the San Diego Unified School District Sponsored UC San Diego Extension Induction Program with an overview of the program, including its goals and expectations (Mentor Roles and Responsibilities). The course will also include: a review of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession, Mentoring/Coaching Professional Development, and Professional Readings. Mentors will guide and support candidates as they complete their assignments and become familiar with the workings of the Induction program.
Note: The employer only pays for the delivery of the Induction content to Induction candidates they sponsor through the program. Inservice credit is available to be purchased separately by the Induction candidate for the equivalent course credit within the predetermined time frame based upon the end date of the section participated in.
