This independent study is the culminating course in the Sustainable Business Practices Certificate. Students will apply knowledge and skills gained in the prerequisite courses to work toward implementing sustainable practices at a local business, gov't entity, non-profit or other organization. Students will spend at least 45 hours on site at their selected entity, collecting data while keeping a journal. Students will perform an assessment and compile a report for their entity. Students will make recommendations for improving programs and operations, and evaluate the economic impact of those recommendations.

  • NOTE  Open to certificate students only. Meetings are arranged. Completion of Introduction to Sustainability (BUSA 40727), Economics and Life Cycle Cost Analysis (ENVR 40013), Strategic Planning and Innovation (ENVR 40014) are mandatory prior to enrolling in this course.
