History of Communication Design

Throughout human history, the design of visual communication has been a necessary and culturally important attribute of all societies. From the invention of alphabets, to new media technology, mankind has evolved in tandem with advancements in communication. This History of Communication Design course will enlighten you and provide a foundation of visual design systems in historical context.
What You Will Learn:
- A historical awareness of communication, art, and design history.
- The ability to create and understand resources and vocabulary related to the history of communication design.
- Experience several art movements that influenced communication design through a series of brief lectures and weekly quizzes related to the history of communication design.
- An understanding of the relationships between the history of Communication, Art and Design, and explore many examples of how these relationships have been used throughout history to communicate powerful messages.
