Do you have a story that you'd like to illustrate and submit for publication? Or do you dream of pursuing a career in illustration? If you already know how to draw and would like to polish your illustration style, develop or expand your portfolio and create professional children's book proposals, this class is for you.

Students examine a variety of traditional and contemporary illustration styles and complete a series of assignments that will focus on the development of style and result in a series of images for their portfolio.

Note: PREREQUISITES: "Children's Book Illustration I: Thinking in Pictures" (ART-40634) and "Children's Book Illustration II: Focus on Style" (ART-40635), or equivalent experience.
This course is designed for the advanced student who has fulfilled most, if not all, certificate requirements. It is laid out over 10 weeks, with 6 in-class meetings to attend ithroughout self-directed work at home.
