Introduction to Calligraphy: English Round Hand
5 Weeks | $225 | In-Class
Put pen to paper and make a real flourish! Using dip pens and ink, you will learn the foundations of calligraphy and be introduced to the classic and elegant script, commonly known as "Copperplate." Each session will build on the previous one in order for you to become comfortable not only with your tools, materials, and lettering, but also to become confident in developing a calligraphic composition in English Round Hand. Instruction includes guided practice and demonstrations including a lesson focusing on flourishing and how to play with Copperplate to create a fun, whimsical look.
What You Will Learn:
- How to understand and be able to demonstrate how the key elements of symmetry, balance, and harmony, contribute to the beauty of English Round Hand.
- Knowledge of the Copperplate, also known as English Round Hand, style of lettering in order to further lettering or your commercial endeavors.
