Stories are powerful vehicles for making sense of our lives and the lives of others. In this course, students will be introduced to film theory and learn the basics of video production -- including composition, editing, audio, etc. They will also learn about the role stories play in in our everyday lives and think about the stories they want to tell. That said, students will storyboard, script, film and edit their own short film in groups. They will assume varying roles throughout the week to learn the various aspects of filmmaking. We will also watch rough cuts of each other’s work throughout the week to offer constructive critiques. In addition to students’ producing their own videos, we will also watch, examine, and discuss a variety of short films.
