This course will give teachers valuable skills for promoting the integration of students with special needs in the regular classroom environment. Topics include state and federal special education legislation, the characteristics of exceptional learners, behavior management and problem solving techniques, teaching strategies, and consultation skills.

This course is part of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing California Induction Clear Credential progam and fulfills the prerequisite teaching special populations requirements for most K-12 preliminary teaching credential programs. Course previously numbered as EDUC 3V146.

Course attendance is asynchronous, however assignments MUST be completed by specific deadlines throughout the course to earn a passing grade. Log into the course in Canvas on the start date and refer to the syllabus for detailed information regarding individual due dates.
