The Professional Development Institute (PDI) has been offering quality online courses for PreK-12 educators for over 19 years. In association with UC San Diego Extension, PDI offers post-baccalaureate (at the graduate level) credit for all PDI online courses.

PDI online courses are:

  • Convenient. Participate on your own schedule. There is no requirement to be online at any specific time. Work at your own pace while having the benefit of classmates and an instructor.
  • Practical. Every PDI course provides you with strategies and activities that can be used immediately in your classroom.
  • Affordable. A flex-time course is only $149! If you need university credit, the cost is an additional $230 for five quarter units (3 and 1/3 semester units) of credit through UCSD Extension. You can register for the course and credit at the same time. PDI offers a new special discount each month. Be sure to visit the website for details.
  • Reputable. Over 70% of our business is based on teacher referrals. PDI has been in business for over 19 years and has provided training to over 100,000 teachers across the globe.

Be sure to visit PDI's website for information regarding discounts for online courses.

Why choose PDI courses for professional development needs?

PDI has over 90 courses to choose from. Courses are conducted entirely online. You do not have to go anywhere or be online at any specific time. PDI flex-time courses are self-paced and instructor-led. You have up to one year to complete a flex course.

Course Format Options

PDI offers two course format options: flex-time courses and semester courses. Course content is identical between flex courses and semester courses. The main difference between the two options is that you can take up to one year to complete a flex course, whereas you must be finished by the end of the semester for a semester course. Additionally, flex-time courses have five written assignments and five online tests whereas semester courses have seven written assignments. Both course options are approved for post-baccalaureate (graduate) credit through UC San Diego Extension.
