The main objective of level VII is to continue developing conversational skills in Spanish. The last two grammar topics presented in the book will be studied. In addition, the main focus will be to review all of the grammar topics covered in levels 1-7 and practice them by engaging in meaningful, real-life context conversations through listening, reading, writing and conversation activities. This course is designed to prepare students for the higher-level, elective classes.
Note: Recommended prerequisite: "Spanish for Communication VI", or the equivalent. Requirement for the Professional Certificate in Spanish Language.

De Caterina, Linda
Linda De Caterina, Ph.D. has taught at the university level in several colleges and universities in the United States and Italy. She has extensive Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and literature teaching experience.
She lives in San Diego and spends a few months in Italy every year. She has two master’s degrees, one in Italian (Ca'Foscari University in Venice) and one in Spanish (SDSU). She also has a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literature from UC Berkeley. She has two children. Her future goals are to raise strong, healthy, happy and independently thinking children. Also, to keep herself fit and healthy, to keep learning and traveling. She practices yoga and judo, and she has nine cats and three dogs.
