America is not imaginable without joy rides, wanderings, and discoveries on Google Street View. This course focuses on the road trip as a core photographic genre for documentation and experimentation. Modeled on famous trips by artists like Frank, Ruscha, Winogrand or Alec Soth, students will consider diverse shooting styles while on the road. Students will develop an understanding of the genre and embark on photo trips to tell their own stories of America. Through presentations and peer critiques students will develop an effective language for describing their images and visual concepts.
