Summer University Program
By enrolling in the Summer University Program through UC San Diego Extension International Programs, you will receive very high quality students services, including:
- academic advising
- immigration advising
- health and welfare advising
- participate in student events organized by Extension International Programs
The tuition for Extension's Summer University Program is higher than it is with direct enrollment on the campus Summer Session website because of the additional services and personal attention you will receive from Extension International Programs throughout your Summer University Program.
Who should take this program?
You should take the Summer University Program if you are a high-achieving student who would like to take a full-time or part-time schedule of credit-bearing courses at UC San Diego while studying alongside American university students in the summer. Extension's Summer University Program consists of regular university courses compressed into two five-week periods and both sessions are very rigorous. A schedule of 8 units per 5-week session (usually two classes) is considered full-time study.
Enrollment for visiting and international students begins April 2021. To ensure you obtain your choice in courses, please apply early to solidify your schedule in April 2021, at the start of open-enrollment for visiting and international students. While international students may begin reviewing courses beginning March 2020 (when UC San Diego students begin enrolling in Summer Session classes), visiting and international students may not enroll in courses until April 2021.
