Paralegal Certificate Program

Accelerated Paralegal Program

The intensive accelerated program allows students to complete instruction in twelve weeks. The program is held three times a year, beginning each fall (September), spring (March), and summer (June) quarters. Classes meet four days a week, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Classes are usually held at the UCSD University City Center Center, although classes may also be held at other locations in San Diego or the UCSD La Jolla campus.

Fees

The program fee is $5,960 and includes instruction, course materials and textbooks, lifetime placement assistance and services, certificate fee, parking permit (as needed), visits to relevant sites, orientation and graduation lunch. The cost breaks down to a $60 application fee, a deposit of $200, and tuition of $5,700. The deposit is required upon acceptance in the program. This certificate program is exempt from any discounts.

2012 Accelerated Program Dates

Spring 2012: March 26 - June 15, 2012

Summer 2012: June 25 - September 13, 2012

Fall 2012: September 24 - December 13, 2012

Certificate Program Enrollment

Candidates must be officially accepted into the full-time program before attending classes. Enrollment is limited.

Refunds and Withdrawals

Requests for withdrawal from the full-time program must be submitted in writing to the Paralegal Program office. The $60 application fee is nonrefundable. If the participant requests withdrawal prior to the beginning of the program, the balance of the fee is refunded in full. If a participant requests withdrawal after the program begins, refunds are offered on the following basis:

• Withdrawal before or during the second week of instruction: 65 percent refund
• Withdrawal before or during the third week of instruction: 35 percent refund
• Withdrawal after the third week of instruction: no refund
