Richard J. Sachs majored in English literature at Loyola University in Chicago and earned a J.D. from John Marshall Law School. He clerked for the California Court of Appeal and worked at Lord, Bissell, and Brook in Los Angeles. He has been a Deputy District Attorney for the past 30 years and is in charge of the Lifer Hearing Unit.
