Transform films into live art: Learn songs, dance, and scenes.
Musicals, which originated in the early 20th century from light opera, are iconic throughout the history of films, plays and movies. More and more movies are getting transformed into Broadway musicals including Anastasia, Beauty and the Beast and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Students will learn how to perform in these inspired musicals through the learning and application of vocal warm-ups, physical stretches and tongue twisters. In addition, students will learn an arsenal of once movies, now musicals theatre songs and dance choreography where they will learn to work with scene partners and perform shorts scenes from these musicals.
What You Will Learn
Students in Movies Come to Life will:
- Perform movie inspired theatre
- Learn theatre songs and dance choreography
- Work with scene partners and perform scenes from musicals
- Prepare for performances through vocal warm-ups, stretches and tongue twisters

Turret, Samantha
Samantha Turret is a transplant from New Jersey and New York City who found her way to sunny Los Angeles. She is an actress, voice actor and teacher best known for cohosting Nickelodeon's “Top Elf” alongside the one and only Santa Claus. She has also worked on shows on MTV, A&E, Discovery and Lifetime. As a voice actor, she can be heard on commercials and podcasts, and as the narrator of popular children's audiobooks such as “Pearl the Magical Unicorn” and “Rivals!
